Our first Rhode Island + Southern Massachusetts Industry Remix brought professionals representing approximately 34 companies together in downtown Providence for an evening built around meaningful connections, new perspectives and opportunities for collaboration.

THE FIRST INDUSTRY REMIX
On September 29, professionals from across Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts gathered in Providence for the first Industry Remix.
The idea was simple: bring complementary parts of the residential industry into the same room.
Interior designers met builders. Architects connected with real estate professionals. Specialty experts met potential collaborators. Conversations happened between people whose work often intersects—but whose professional circles don't always do the same.
WHAT WE HEARD
THE INDUSTRY REMIX STORY WALL
At our first gathering, attendees were invited to share their perspectives on three questions:
What should others in the industry know?
What could we do together?
What are we experiencing?
Several themes emerged.
BRING EXPERTISE IN EARLIER
Attendees emphasized the value of specialized expertise—and the importance of bringing the right professionals into projects before decisions become expensive to change.
From lighting and storage design to construction, architecture and other specialties, great residential projects benefit when expertise is valued early.
COLLABORATE MORE
There was a clear appetite for more collaboration across disciplines.
Attendees suggested additional networking opportunities, Lunch & Learns, small vendor showcases, community outreach and opportunities to learn about the challenges other professionals are experiencing.
